TGV Sud-Est (TGV-PSE) trainsets

The TGV Sud-Est trainsets was the first type of TGV trains and started operating the high speed line between Paris and the southeastern France, especially Lyon. Today they are also used in northern France.

TGV Duplex

There are 3 slightly different TGV Duplex generations. 1. generation are numbered in the 200-series, 2. generation is numbered in the 600-series and is a tri-current version, that can operate in Germany and Switzerland, 3. generation is also called Dasye (Duplex Asynchrone ERTMS) and is numbered in the 700-series.

TGV Euroduplex

Also known as TGV 2N2 or RGV 2N. No. 801 - 810 is equipped for travel to Spain, 811 - 825 is used for domestic travel and 4701 - 4730 is equipped for travel to Germany.

TGV Réseau

TGV Réseau are based on the TVG Atlantique (which was based on the TGV Sud-Est). Some of the trainsets are operated by Thalys, a company owned by SNCF, SNCB/NMBS and DB, these trainsets are called PBA and used on the Paris - Bruxelles - Amsterdam-line, therefore the name PBA.

TGV POS (Paris-Ostfrankreich-Süddeutschland) trainsets

The TGV POS trainsets are designed for international trafik and can operate under both 15 KV + 25 kV AC and 1,5 kV DC. A trainset of this type, no. 4402, sat the world speed record of 574.8 km/h in 2007.
