Clovis Sub

Clovis Sub is a part of the BNSF Transcon and runs from Clovis to Belen, both New Mexico. The Clovis Sub is mostly doubletracked except in a few segments with only one track. These single tracked segments is bottlenecks and BNSF is doubletracking the whole sub.

Fort Sumner

Fort Sumner is one of the last pieces of singletrack on BNSFs Transcon in New Mexico. In Fort Sumner the railway crosses the Pecos River on a single track railway bridge.

Encino

I was in Encino in March 2007, unfortuneatly it was snowing, but I succeded in getting some pictures anyway.

Beevers (MP 879,3)

Beevers is just west of Abo Canyon. BNSFs Transcon is singletracked through Abo Canyon, making this section a bottleneck. This means trains are often waiting to get through - going west on highway 60 out of Abo Canyon, you can often see one or more trains waiting to go east. BNSF is currently doubletracking Abo Canyon, so this bottleneck can be eliminated.
BNSF westbound doublestack headed by BNSF 4988 + BNSF 4355 + BNSF 997 (all GE C44-9W), March 30, 2007, 16:45. This is the same trains as in Encino 2½ hour before, this means the trains effective speed has been about 28 mph.
