Today I started to head back home. I took the Flåm railway from Flåm to Myrdal.

The trip by bike down the Flåm valley was a great experience, but the railway ride was just as impressive. the railway station in Flåm has an altitude of 2 m, and Myrdal has an altitude of 867 m. The railway is about 20 km long, this means the average climb is more than 4% which is very steep for trains.

The train stops at Kjosfossen for about 5 minutes, so there is time for enjoying the view and taking pictures.

In Myrdal I changed trains - I took a train to Oslo, and this meant I followed the same route as I had taken by bike yesterday. But because many parts of the railway is in tunnels and snow shelters, you don't see so much as by bike.
