Valdres

After having spent the night at Sognefjellet and enjoyed the scenery the next morning, we continued north to Lom. In Lom there is a stave church, and we hoped, we could see it from the inside, after our unsuccesfull trip to Borgund stave church. On the way down from Sognefjellet

In Norway you often meet sheeps in the mountains, but not so often cows. Howoever we did see some on the way down from Sognefjellet...
On the way down from Sognefjellet

...and here some sheeps
We actually had succes : we arrived in Lom in the opening hours for the stave church, so we saw a stave church from the inside. The church is from the 13th century and is one of the biggest stave churches in Norway. See more at www.visitlom.com.

After having seen the church, we continued øst to a little before Vågåmo. Here we took RV 51 over Valdres.

The altitude of RV 51 over Valdresflya is almost a high as RV 55 over Sognefjellet, the highest point on RV 51 is 1390 m above sealevel. However, the nature is quite different, Sognefjellet has a more rough nature than Valdresflya - perhaps because there is more snow on Sognefjellet After Valdres we continued south to Oslo and further south to a group of islands named Hvaler close to the swedish border. Here lives my sister with her family, so we spend a couple of days here on the way home.
